No problem can be solved from the same level of consciousness that created it.
— Albert Einstein

A little about me:

I grew up in the south of England and moved to the US when I was thirteen. I have lived in the midwest, on the east coast, and now in northern California’s beautiful Bay Area. I am deeply grateful for my experiences as a mother, a wife, a daughter, a sister, an author, and a business owner - all of which inform my psychotherapy practice today.

a little more about My Approach

I work collaboratively with my clients to find the approach that works best for them. Some clients prefer more direction, others prefer more contemplation. I tend to favor a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach, drawing from Richard Schwartz’s theory that we have “no bad parts.”

The Dalai Lama said that the purpose of life is to be happy. This doesn’t mean we go through life trying to escape from the myriad emotions that feel bad to us. If we are to experience happiness, we need to feel safe contacting all of our emotions.

It is my intention to create the space in which clients can do this.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

I have a Master’s in Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies and a Bachelor’s in Psychology from the University of Michigan. In addition to seeing private clients at Rose Therapy Practice, I also see clients at North Marin Community Services; a nonprofit supporting Northern Marin’s underserved population.
